Must-buy items

Post by Coo »

Seeing that I'm still somewhat unfamiliar with the game, is there anyone willing to give a short list of what they feel are bargain items which I should always buy?

well, that depends if it is the original NwN or an expansion. In the original game, buy things that gives resistance or immunity. In Shadows of Undrentide, buy the best thing you can get, since there are a limit of good wares to choose between. In Hoards of the Underdark, buy a item that gives immunity to mind affecting (won't tell why :) ) also buy ability boosting items.

Edit: potions are lifesavers, stock up on them.

Some of the best items in the game are the "Greater Belt of Archer/Swordsman/Brawler" because they give 20 damage reduction to each of the weapontypes (piercing, slashing and blunt).
This can make many fights much much easier if you shift the belts around depending on what enemies you meet.

20 points is a lot and the belts are potentially cheesy, so use them at your own risk, but they are great for getting through some hard spots. :D

Thanks for all the info. :)

Another question: Are there any A-grade items that can only be bought, but not found?
