Sorry if this question has been asked a trillion times over. It's not really a death or life situation either, but I'm curious: Warrior Mummies and certain types of other enemies in NWN cast a spell called 'Doom', or something to the effect. The afflicted character starts to run away from the enemy, little 'laughing' black things floating about their head. I kept thinking that 'Doom' is a compound spell, since 'Fear' ( the spell ) produces the same effect.
Now my question: what spell or potion counters the effect? My wizard is immune to mind-affecting spells, but sadly, Daelan Red Tiger, isn't. Ever so often, he's hit with Doom/Fear, and starts running away from the enemy. I've tried, before and after meeting, for example, a Warrior Mummy:
-Potions of Clarity
-Remove Curse ( spell )
-Antidote Potion
-Mindblank ( spell )
and basically everything that should negate the Fear/Doom effect, but nothing worked. Am I missing something? Does anyone know of a specific potion/spell to remove the effects?
[ My game is patched, but I've had the same problem before I applied any kind of patches ]
Thanks in advance.

Mind blank seems like it should work, if you use it before the encounter. However, I'm not overly familiar with the spells. I usually use a (lesser) belt of the guiding light, or something similar.

I've tried Mindblank, but it doesn't work, and it gets kind of annoying if you're fighting in open country ( forest, for example ) and your henchman runs off in the middle of the fight, leaving you a) with all the enemies to fight on your own, and b) to figure out where he ran off to after he was hit with fear. I guess I'll have to keep trying.

You need to up the Will saves of your henchies - however the caveat is that in some cases the DC for the save is quite high, and raising the Will save by 2-5 points is still not doing you any good. Beyond that, giving them Spell Resistant items may also help (well, not in the original module, as you can't give them items then).
The best thing to do when a henchie is Doomed is run like hell, and hope that the baddies chase you rather than kill the henchie. Or teleport back to the Temple, and get whomever to heal you - that should clear the Doom as well.
Cheers,
TGHO

Just for the record - it is a Fear that they have in a circle around them (you can see the radius on the group around them). Also the "black heads laughing" is the effect of somebody Feared
Doom has nothing to do with the Fear but lowers your statistics for a time (cursing you I think), and has the spell effect of a little thundercloud over the person being cast on, if I do remember correct.

Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't too sure. Does anyone know if Daelan Red Tiger is immune to Doom? In the OC, lots of the better mummies I meet cast 'Doom', and I did check my and Daelan's stats to find nothing had changed... but it's funny to think that Daelan might actually be afraid of mummies. [ Which is why I thought the Doom spell was causing the 'little black laughing things'. ]
