Pls Help, trouble getting Morrok to craft items for me *Spoiler*

In Chapter 1 of NWN in the Shining Armour shop ( the one where u persuade the merchant to give u access to the back room, my character is a lv6 Druid) I got the recepie book from Morrok (I think thats his name, he is the dwarven crafter there). In the book it says to makes "Scales of Truth" I need special holy water (which I have) and a magic armour with a total AC of 5 (i have a breastplate+1), However when I put those two items in the forge and ask the dwarf to make an item for me, he tells me I have put the wrong items inside and goes on to explain how I need to put one magic item (e.g my breastplate+1) and one component (e.g my holy water) in the forge. I am soooooo confused as that is exactly what I have done...... I tried the the gargoyle skull and the breastplate+1 which is another recepie and he still says the same thing Some help and clearity would be GREATLY appreciated on this issue

I am not 100% sure - but dosen't a breast plate have base AC 5?
Then adding +1 makes it have a total AC of 6.
To craft the amour you need total AC of 5 which is *inclusive* the AC bonus.

does it have to be exactly AC5 or can it be lower AC in order to work, cause I tried a magic armour with an AC2 after i read your reply and it still didnt work.... nor with the gargoyle head recepie (which requires a magic armour AC3)

The armor must have the same AC as the recipie says....

...including any magical bonuses. To get armour AC 5, you need +1 scalemail or chain shirt +1.
