Help HotU battle gates, can't talk to soldiers

Help HotU battle gates, can't talk to soldiers (SPOILERS)

SPOILERS (excuse my english...)

I was send to the gates in underdark to command the soldiers in HotU, but I'cant talk to them because they are too far, and I can't move! What do I have to do?

Have you talked to the glowing ball of light standing next to you? You have to speak with the General (the light) first, as he tells you how to position the soldiers.

Thank you for the answer...but the damn ball is too far!

The ball is too far? From what I remember, it should be right next to you! Got an earlier save to revert to? Sounds like something has stuffed up.
