any ideas why it keeps crashing out?

Nope, the movies are fine, have you installed the via 4.24 drivers, and got the l8st drivers for your graphics card (dont run your nvidia card at 4x if you have one, run it at 2x, it will be the cause of nearly all your problems if you do), have you got a recent bios version??

Going to do a full install now... ill report back in about 50 mins Image

+ the infogames site said something about the runtime error being because of read ahead optimisation on the cdrom, so i may look at that next if it doesnt work.. But it did work before, which is why i think it was a software program (too much freeware)

Image crashed loading a level... im testing the fsb now (means i have to have a 650mhz p3 instead of 820 Image)

- Does that mean loading a save game (clean the temp and the data/cache directory in baldurs gate before trying again)
- or crash loading when you enter a new area ?

Switching the fsb to 100Mhz shpuld help if you encounter with the via chipset (the agp is not stable enough to handle full speed agp on 155 MHz).
If you encounter problems when you load a game or an area, I don't think that switching the speed of the fsb helps.
