Bards

Post by Heidrek »

I'm thinking of making a Bard character and had a question about the Bard song abilities. In the manual it says the abilities do not stack. Does this mean that at 1st level you caget +1 to attack and damage, but at 2nd Level your song gives only +1 to will saves? Or do you have to choose which song effect you want? Seems like you should get both bonuses. Otherwise a 16th Level bard can give +1 to will, +4 HP and +1 dodge AC bonus. wow.

Also is it better to go with two weapon fighting or weild a dual weapon like a double-sword or so on as this only needs one proficiency? I suppose you can take imp. two weapon fight though later so you get an extra attack.

Do you get the full strength bonus on a double weapon or is it only half on the second attack? Or one and a half on both - it is a two handed weapon after all.

Thanks!

BTW has anyone gone through the otriginal NWN with a Bard? Are they decent solo?

I think the manual means that multiple Bard Songs will not stack.

I prefer two-weapons to two-handed since I use Devastating Critical, your choice really, especially if your playing NWN which doesn't have dev. crit.

I'm pretty sure it's 1.5 * STR bonus.

In original NWN Bards are close to the weakest class.
