*SPOILER* for NWN, second chapter
*SPOILER* for NWN, second chapter
Now, the first time I played this, I managd to blunder through this part OK. It's when you go and chat the Elk Tribe. First time around, I was able to speak to Zoltan, or Zokar, whoever, and he told me about Dumas and I went back, killed him for being vile, and was happy. Now, very time I go into the Elk Tribe camp, they attack me. I go to speak to people and they attack me. I try talking to the sick people and they either don't want to know me, or they are upset with me because by this time I've killed their chief. I don't want to go back and face the druid in case he attacks me too. What am I doing wrong? I'm Lawful good and I'm sure I'm not....well, OK, apparantly I am fairly ugly
. Maybe I'm too stupid.

Hmmm -something- screwed up your faction reactions. Did you kill any elk guys after talking to Zokar? Or take some of their stuff while they were watching?
Or wait, even better: do you have the cure for the elk people in your backpack? (a flask iirc)
You get it from Dumas - you can eitehr talk him into surrendering it or buy it. Wait... you killed him without even speaking to him, right? Then you probably didn't ever get the cure. And if you don't bring the cure, they most likely won't be happy about your return...

Well, I didn't get a choice. I went up to the front gates, the Elk guy was blue until I clicked on him and talked to him. He immediately turned red and attacked me. Everyone in the Elk home attacked me, and Zokar attacked me too. As I understand it, what's supposed to happen is Zokar tells you that his people have been poisoned, gives you the rags as proof, you go back to Dumas, kill him, and get the cure. BUT as Zokar was dead, and I'd wiped out just about everyone else, there wasn't much point getting the cure then.
I can't have taken anything that could be termed 'theirs', so I'm really stuck. I mean, I can get onto to the rest of the plot and stuff, it's just I can't explain it. However, other people have brought up the fact that other characters turn antagonistic for no reason, so maybe it's just something that happens with the game.

You should have gone to the room with the sick barbarians and then talk with some of them - they ask you not to kill them and speak with Zoltan. After that they don't attack - I would advise sneaking through.

Groan! Yusam's ring? She said, hopelessly. No, I think I must have sold that. OK, well, at least I know now, thank you, as I've now damaged my disk by kicking my computer while it was saving, I'm going to have to start again anyway.......I'll be more careful in the future. Thank you.
