Is it posible to complete the henchmen quests without hiring them?
The Rewards they give are quite nice, but i couldn't manage without Daelan Redtiger, with my sorcerer.
Henchmen
Well - you need to hire them to speak with them and get them to give you the quests and for you to give them their quest items.
But you don't need to adventure with them or need them in your party as you optain their quest items.
So what you can do is adventure with Daelan, and when you find the neasecary questitems for the other henchmen, then go to them and disband Daelan for a moment, hire the new henchmen and then talk to him( and give him his item and get reward) and then and rehire Dealan afterwards.

Quest are activated as you level.
For each level you "unlock" another dialog with the henchmen where they tell you about the story.
This means after you have leveled (I think it is) 3 times, you should have unlocked all story/quest related dialogs.
You don't have to have them in your party or anything to unlock the dialog, and you don't have to talk to them each level - it dosen't break the quests.
So say you have Dealan with you - after you have leveled 3/4/5/6 times (still with in the same chapter - important as admo states) you can meet up with the remainder henchmen and kick Dealan, take on the others and talk to them as much as possible, and you should get all quests (and if you already have the item, you can give it to them).
Then re-hire Dealan and move on
