crappy armor selection

I'm a fighter in Chapter two, city of Luskan. I have been wearing "Armor of Comfort" since early in the game, and haven't found anything better.

Does anyone know where I can find some really great armor in this part of the game? Was the forge in chapter one the only opportunity to upgrade weapons and armor?

I am really frustrated with my armor class and have already piled on all of the pendants and rings of natural armor possible.

There was a non-obvious armor upgrade in Ch.1 - the result of the gargoyle skull and +1 Leather armor resulted in Whitebone Armor (!?). Never could figure out how that happens .

If you don't like your armor upgrades, you can try multiple save/reloads with the "special" loot chests to get good armor, like the enkidu's armor. There are two "special loot" chests for sure in Voleron's lair - there are undoubtably more in Luskan (maybe the trapped chest in Baram's sewers?). I could pretend moral superiority and say that I never did multiple reloads, but I got lucky on armor drops when playing melee-types.

There is one in chapter 3 as well.

where's Voleron's Lair? I don't see it in the walkthrough list, and no hits on google.

I think he means the Ruins of Illusk

Bah - I apologize; I should have typed "Valeron's Lair". The Illusk ruins were indeed what I meant.
