This is a good option for a low level Wizard, sorcerer, Cleric or Druid....(HothU)
when you are playing with the D&D hardcore rules, command your henchman to hold ground. Then you can release all your area-spells on him.( make sure you don't hit yourself). When you have killed your henchman you gain XP equal to a Challenging level Creature. Then use your rod of resurection on the henchman...
