Out of the frying pan and into the garden - BG2 Spoiler

Post by Mr Sleep »

I imported a game into ToB from an old save game and the most bizaare thing happened.

Half of my party was left in Hell  add to this that 2 of my party were in the start of ToB.

Well rather than just load up a new game etc. i took on Irenicus again. And at the completion of killing him my entire party was returned to Sundellaser. Well done they said and then i had the end cut scene again. After this had finished my party was left in the clebration with everyone ignoring me. If i went back and talked to Elissime i would get the cut scene again.

I left and went outside, everyone seemed to think the seige was still on and i should help the Queen?

I left Sundelesalar and then wandered around in the forest with Coran in it. I couldn't get out of this forest.

i was wondering if anyone else had experienced similar events.

*OMG* - What have you done- destroyed your ToB :D

Well actually I haven't had this - but IIRC I saw it(something similar) somewhere on the board - good luck :)

I just restarted a new MP game and imported a bunch of my players.

I just wondered if anyone else had a similar experience :D

that sounds like the "party split bug" it's never happend to me but i've seen it mentioned on all the boards.

2 suggestions:

1st suggestion, quicksave after using the tears and import that save into tob, rather than playing through.

or

i've also seen suggested that if you attempt to play through after a fight or two your party will be summoned to the demi-plane which brings the party back together again.

I have heard of this. I have heard that copying your MPSave game to the regular save file can work to fix it. Alternatively, try to make sure you don't change the character order from what loads up prior to killing Irenicus. There is some problem about the order of the MP characters on the screen vs the order in the MP game.

Just suggestions of things I have heard, I am NOT very technically minded. If they don't work, at least my post will bump you up :p

Thanks for the Bump ;) ( )

It is not a major problem but thankyou for your thoughts and ideas. I will probably investigate it on the official boards or email Bioware. :)

I've experienced the split party bug myself - half of my party (including the protaganist) was left in Suldanessalar, while the other half went to the grove. I just used the old MoveToArea cheat to get everyone where they belonged.

There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

That is not a bad idea :)

The best bit about it all si that i can keep replaying the end cut scene to my hearts content. It's amasing how much punishment Johnny boy goes through ;) :D

I am not sure about MP but I had the party split playing single. If you continue playing without the other team members everything should be OK after a short while.
