Uninstall Problem

Post by dizz` »

Hello..

Ok, straight to the point.
I've deleted the VtM program folder, so I can't uninstall it properly now, because the install log ( Vampire.isu ) is missing.
But the maint point is, I can't install the game, because it thinks, that another version of VtM is installed already.
I've tried a couple of registry cleaners but it didn't help

MY best advice would be to try and install it on a seperate drive, or folder. Though, this is a weird problem.

Did you remove the registry using regedit in windows?

Yes I did, but it didn't help :\

The Problem is, i don't even get the chance to choose a destination folder or drive for installation
even if i start the setup manually, it just cancels :\

There might be some remaining V:tMR file active, but if not, I don't know what could be causing this problem. You might get some better luck in our Tech Support forum. We got some knowledgeable people.

I'm gonna send this down to the Tech Support forum, I think. You'll probably get better help there.

When in doubt, Fdisk>Format>Reinstall

Have you tried the company's tech support? I've had this problem with a few games, and usually it winds up being a registry problem. The problem being, sometimes files are hidden where you wouldn't think they would be.

i had the same problem some days ago, the solution is rather simple.. you just have to delete the file vampire.ini in your windows folder.
