I have a couple of questions I hope you can help me with. 1. My main level of the dungeon is very dark, I keep having to cast the light spell to be able to see, is there a way to increase the gama in the game?
2. I'm trying to get the puzzling door open to go up the stairs but can't find the key. And help on how to do that?

About lighting up the shadows, I assume you've adjusted them in the Options section of the Main Menu so the only other thing I can suggest is to check the adjustments on your monitor. I have 5 on mine starting with Mute then Select etc etc... Pushing the select button changes the Screen Set from Normal to something called Picture Mate. Why the hell these techies cant just call it Lighter I'll never know, but that's what it does!! And I have had to use it in a lot of other games but not in this one. Hope you have something similar...
Question 2, sorry, need more info as to where you are. First, what level are you on? You can tell by the heading at the top of the screen when you click on the pale yellow map square on the left of your screen. After that I need some land marks to identify your location....

Thanks for replying Geezer. I have my monitor turned way up on brightness and contrast and the colors adjusted. I have had to turn the lighting or brightness up on other games but as fas as this one goes the only thing I have seen to adjust it is the shadows adjustment. Must be my poor monitor.
As to the second question, I'm in the main level of the dungeon, and I'm to the about the middle eastern part of the map. There is a stair that reads accend, but it's behind a door that has Door with a puzzling lock. The stairs are to the left of the door and it's a small room.
It's a little north and west of the man you fight in the cell with the amulets. Is that enough infor? It's left of the room with the fountain of worship.

OK, thats plenty of info to locate just where you are. That door is to a set of stairs to the Upper Halls of Light and you need the "Lockpick" key to open it. Unfortunately, Cheat is right. You can only get this key by coming DOWN the stairs from the room above!! A nice little twist in the game, ay?
