NWN Charisma on items problem

Post by Stilgar »

My sorcerer with a natural charisma of 20 is wearing:
- Greater mask or persuation (+2 charisma)
- Nymphcloack (+3 charisma)
- Belt of the performer (+5 charisma)
- Lantanese ring (+3 charisma)

So he should get a total bonus of 13 charima, but he only has 32 charima.
And it isnt an item that's bugged, when i unequip an item i drop to what i should have without that item.

So is your maximum bonus to charima (and maybe other stat's) maxed or something?
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

His normal charisma is 23? (+13 equals a charisma of 36)

23 + 2 + 3 + 3 + 5 = 36 So you want to have a charisma of 36 right?

Could be some things don't stack... don't see why any of these would though.

He has 20 charisma without items.
So 20 + 2 + 3 + 5 + 3 = 33 (with items)

But he only has 32 charima.
But when I unequip an item i drop charima like i had 33
(for example, when i unequip the cloack+3 i have 30charisma)
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Ok, well then he should get a bonus of +11, not +13.

Could be that the game doesn't count further then 32. 33 and 32 get the same modification so that's no problem. It will matter though when you get a more powerfull charisma item.
Also possible is that it does count further the 32 and it doesn't show but the mod still changes. Perhaps you should waitfor a new item and see what happends.

Still, that's one huge charisma!

I seem to recall my last time through the game that there is infact a cap on the stat bonus you can have. I reached it with strenght on my Paladin/CoT, or I think I did, when he didn't get full strenght bonus benefit from his items.
Unfortunally - I can't remember the excat value, but will have a look in my current game when I aquire a little more strenght items (playing a cheesy fighter/barbarian/weapon master with a crit. threat range on 13-20 on Enseric the Long Sword :D )

I will try to see if I reach a cap on strenght and if so what it is.

After installing HotU the maximum stat bonus is 12 on an item, so they only stack to 12.
