I have a machine at work that shows no visable network connection (although the device driver shows the intel network card working fine, we can acess the network and ping out). I am suspecting a virus because when I go to control panel the page opens up... altered.
The scroll bar is one inch to the right when maximized, leaving 2/3's of the window blank. Almost as if the windows was changed... I've seen this before and I thought it was a klez deal... I believe its a virus because the site lost its ability to print so I think thier broadcasting and making too much traffic.
Has anyone heard of such virus? Also it wont let me update my symantec corporate.
Also i've run the blaster, klez, welchia and beagle fixes from symantec.com

If you suspect it's a virus (and it sound weird enough to be) try running Housecall from the TrendMicro website. It's a free online virus scanner, and I've found it to be very effective.
If that doesn't find anything I'd recommend either removing and reloading the drivers for the network card or installing an alternate card.
