Simple Stupid Question (How do I know if I use USB1 or 2.0?)

Post by Vicsun »

Well, pretty self-explanatory. I know the difference in speed between the two is more than notciable, but I'm uncertain whether it's my computer that has a USB1 port or it's the external hardware that doesn't support USB2.0.

This should be something really simple, but I guess I have a pretty good talent for missing the obvious.

Danke in advance.
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

If you're using the onboard USB controller, you can check with your motherboard manufacturer (or computer vendor) and they will tell you.
Jesus saves! And takes half damage!

If brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough.

Documentation should also indicate this, either motherboard documentation or what USB port device you use. It should be written in the manual :) .

Or do as HLD says, go straight to the manufactor.
