Best char strategy for WM

Post by kabkab »

Looking for best char strategy for Fighter 7/WM (max) with sword and shield. Or there no sense to build WM without dualwielding?

And one more question - how to beat physically immune creatures? Or magic creatures (like Black Blade of Disaster)? How to beat invisible creatures?

Previous games (all series of BG, IWD, NWN) i played as wizard and did not have such problems, but seems, that wizards become unpopular... And right now trying to start HotU with new type...
Thx!

Well the one of the better (and more popular) character strategies is using Devastating Critical and a rapier(s). I like a Bard 20/RDD 10/WM 10 build since the DC of Devastating Criticals are based on strength (but this build is annihilated by Bard 20/PM 10/RDD 10).

Weapon Masters are mostly used for criticals though they also give the highest melee attack base possible.

With the above build you could Dispel magic creatures though you still have alot of trouble with critical immune creatures (though high strength + haste helps). As for invisible creatures you could cast the level 2 spell See Invisibility or just get an item with true sight.

Since when did wizards become unpopular? They would surely be the strongest class if Time Stop wasn't banned on most servers, and the 'Bigby's' spells can act in place of that.
