Locked doors on Taris

I cannot figure out how to get into the upper city cantina or into the elevator to the lower city on Taris. I have checked enough of the walkthrough to know that I have the steps figured out and I 'should' be able to get into both. Each door shows as a security door with only the option to use the security skill and each time I attempt to use my security skill I get an 'impossible' message. My security skill is at level 2, which I know is not particularly high, and I bought a couple security spikes which seem to have no effect. Is my character just too low a level in security to get through those doors? If that is the case I will have to start the whole game over since I have exhausted the XP possibilities in the area. Unless I can figure out a way to attack the roaming Sith guards I'll never get past level 4.

Common Sense

Hey! This is just a stupid suggestion but you might not have tried it. When you go to the cantina and it says locked door right? Well just press open even though it has the security option it should just open up anyways even if it says locked door and if you have the sith armor to get to the lower city then just wear it and press open and it should open up. (I seriously doubt you have the sith armor though if you haven't gotten into the cantina)

I will double check the UI that pops up when I target the door. I dont remember an 'open' option but maybe I was just not looking closely enough. I do have the Sith armor but when I walk up to the guard at the cantina door wearing it I get the dialogue about 'you cant go into the cantina while you are on duty!'

Ok. You really need to think about why he says you can't go into the cantina why'll you are on duty. It's because you're wearing the sith armor. He naturally assumes your a sith soldier on duty. So when you want to go anywhere else besides the lower city you need to take off the sith armor or they'll assume you're a sith.

Ok, it was a 'cant see the forest for the trees' issue. I simply wasnt just clicking on the door a second time to open it. BTW - I did try talking to the guard with and without the Sith armor on.

Ok well which guard is it? is this the guard in front of the cantina or the one in front of the entrance to the lower city?
