multiplayer?

one of my friend told me that they might release a patch that will let you play online...

anyone knows if this is true?

Bioware have claimed that there will be no multi-player patch released.

KotoR was planned from the start as a singleplayer game. The code simply isn't in place for it to be used in any way for multiplayer, online play, and that would have to be created from start. Currently, Bioware has all its resources in a couple of other projects, so the likelihood of going that route is next to nothing.

damn it sucks...
guess they don't want to compete with SW Galaxies...
looks good, but I'm not going to lay every month... I hate paying MMORPG.... it's so gay ! I don't get the point: you pay 50$ for a game, and you still have to pay like 15$ a month to play... stupid, theya re losing so much players.....

i hope KOTOR 2 has multiplayer

Personally, I prefer games that concentrate during development on either being singleplayer or multiplayer. If you try to do both, you're spreading your resources too thin, and the two kinds of games have very different requirements for whats a good, successful product. I wouldn't mind seeing a multiplayer Lucasarts RPG, but I'd frankly rather see a KotoR2 that avoids multiplayer and focuses on adding non-linearity, more interparty interactions, and far better AI. Just my POV.

The way I see it, if you want singleplayer you have KotOR. If you want multiplayer you have Galaxies. That is good enough for me. I don't need a multiplayer KotOR.
