Red Dragon Disciple?

Post by Aremah »

Once again, I'm wondering about many HotU related questions while I don't have HotU yet, but am getting ready for it :)

The Red Dragon Disciple prestige class has some very nifty bonuses, but it seems like it's built for multiclassing with a fighter type chacter (the hit die increase, Str, Con, Armor bonuses). Or is it just me?

What are the bonuses gained by a RDD past level 10 (for the Weapon Master, it's only +1 attack every three leves, if memory serves and as such is not worth taking past lvl 10). Is RDD worth going over level 10?

Does a RDD continue to gain spells just as the sorcerer/bard, or is there some change in there?

Also, an unrelated question which I posted in the "AC and Tumble questions" thread, but it got missed. I've noticed my Tumble ranks have fallen to 0. The armor increase is there, and the skill shows the proper amount of ranks when levelling up, but otherwise it's 0. I suspect it's because of Spring Attack, which pretty much nullifies Tumble. Am I right or is this a bug?

RDDs do not gain any spells.

That is one reason why I dont really like this prestige kit myself.

Bah. Definitely for multiclassing then, not a straight Sorcerer as I would have had it. Pity.

not for the hard core spellcaster, or the tanking machine.. the RDD is a very suitable tie-in PrC for those who are going for the warrior-mage character. bonus AC[nat], Str and HD increases are all very good for the character that needs protection, and HP, but are also very much wanting no armor to cast spells.
