a monk gets an epic bonus feat every 5 levels.
does this mean that:
1. if at char level 21 or more my monk reaches level 5/10/15 he gets the feat?
2. if i have some monk levels, when i get to char level 26 i will get a feat if i take this level as a monk?
3. something else?
epic bnus feats question
Epic feats are obtainable at level 21 and above.. however, some feats are either class specific (meaning you can't take the feat unless you level that particular class), or have slightly higher requirements than simply 21st level;
such as Improved Combat Cast (its 25 skill requirement means you can't take it until level 24), or Dragon Shape, which requires 30 wisdom, which you won't get until VERY high levels)

1.) No.
2.) No.
3.) Yes:
Epic characters, which are characters with a combined level of 21 and upwards gain a feat every 3th level starting at character level 21 (this table is in the manual).
The Monk gains a bonus feat ever 5th level as epic, meaning that after the Monk class levels above 20, he will gain a bonus feat at level 25, 30 etc.
So a L21 Monk would gain a normal gained feat, same as L24 Monk. A L25 Monk he would gain a bonus feat.
But - for instance a Level 21 Rogue/Level 5 Monk dosen't gain the Epic Monk feat at Monk L5 (Character level 26)
You have to differentiate between "Character level" and "Class level" when deciding if a character gains epic bonus feats.
The Character level is the combined total of your character - for instance a Level 5 Rogue/Level 5 Fighter is Level 10 character.
The Class level is the level of any specific class - so the example just mentioned, has class level 5 of a rogue and 5 as a fighter.
To gain the bonus feats or abilities for Epic Classes, that Class Level must indeed be epic.
Otherwise it is only the character that is epic, and not the class iteself.
I hope this helps a little.

If your characters level is above level 20 he is an epic character - that doesn't mean, however, that the classes are epic.
Epic characters can take (general) epic feats, yes.
But - in your example in the first post - a Level 21 <1.class> / 5 Monk isn't an epic monk, so he dosen't get the bonus feats from the Epic monk class. (1 extra feat each 5th level) .
