Problem with soundcard?

Post by Morlock »

The past couple of weeks I've been having this problem.
Most of my Winamp files play, they sound very fuzzy and have a hiss to them. New stuff I put on the computor seems fine, but the old stuff is all hissy.
And I can't play anything in Quicktime- the sound is all cut up and jumpy, you can't listen to it.
But Real Player and Power DVD files play fine. But trying to play my music or QT files through them still gets the same hiss/jumpiness.
Anyone know what to do?

My best guess is that something in either you're OT file, or sound drivers has become corrupt. You could try to uninstall/reinstall, or update the software.

Thanx for your post, but a friend of mine already came over and fixed. I havn't the slightest idea what he did, bt it all works fine.

Now I can finally watch all the trailers I've been downloading!
