Murdered an Innocent - How to rectify?

I was bored and I thought the option said "I trust you, and yahdeyahde. . . " but it really said "I don't trust you, and now I kill you." My alignment is still 98% but now the henchmen kill every civilian in sight.

I'm towards the end of Chapter one (original game): do I have to start the whole thing over to stop everyone acting like the Manson Family? Thanks for helping.

Give in to your hate...kill the innocents. Become an evil character, it's far more fun.

I would think that you can use the console commands to set your faction with the civilians back to "status quo" (neutral/friendly or something).

But I don't know the precise way to do this, since I never used thoese specific console commands (that is - to change faction.)
