KotOR:Help needed with old computer.

Hi!
I was wondering if anyone knows a way to maximize performance of KotOR on my computer.
Editing .ini files or anything else that'll help me play this game smoothly, instead of watching screen shots :(
I have celeron overclocked to 850, geeforce2 Ti and 196Mb RAM. Buying new computer, deleting the game or killing myself is not an option ;)

Moving this to the tech forum. :)

Buy more memory. It's cheap and easy to install.

Run msconfig and disable everything you don't absolutely need to have running in the background.

Scale back some of the video and sound options (ie-textures, effects, etc.).

Also - run a hard drive defrag. Most folks don't do this very often and it can speed up loading time considerably. :)

Oh - and download the newest detonator driver set from nvidia for your video card.

ya can try buy a better graph card. Dont' worry about the 4x or 8x thingy on mobo. the card will adapt itself to the mobo. I got slow performance when playing C&C zero hour last time. But when I plug Geforce 5900 it's smooth sailing.
I'm not dead yet :D :p
