Dodge, Mobility and Heavy Armor. Oil and Water?

Post by dazzla69 »

Apart from persuading the woman at the Moonstone Mask, where can I get diamonds from in the first chapter.
Also, do the Dodge and Mobility feats work to their full effect when wearing the Armor of Comfort. (Heavier armor)
The maximum dex bonus for that armor is +1.
The manual says ` a condition that negates a Dex bonus to AC also negates a dodge bonus`. I`m a bit confused on whether that counts for wearing heavier where the max dex bonus is +1. Any help would be great. I`m only a novice at this game.
I know it`s probably pretty obvious. But as I said, I`m a little confused and I know there`s people out there who know a load more than me.

Well, I can answer the dodge/mobility one, at least.

The armour does not negate either of those feats. When the manual states that if you do not have you're dex bonus to AC, you lose the benefits of those feats, it refers to moments when you are caught flat footed (sneak attack, I think is one, but generally, when you're not ready for combat)

Cheers Aegis

I was thinking of selling that armor and going for something lighter. I have 16 Dex and thought I was wasting it with bulky armor.
Still not sure whether i am or not.
Anyway, thanks again. :)

Well, it really depends. You still get the dex bonus to ranged weapons, and such. The only thing the armour max dex does is affect your AC, but the additional AC you get from the heavier armours is often enough to counter the loss (unless you're a dex heavy PC, then it's better to go light armour)

As for the diamond in the first chapter, try checking the
items galore thread that is a sticky in this forum

I'd think it holds some locations.

I can't remember the locations out of memory anymore though :)
