Holy Avenger ?
Holy Avenger ?
Just a short question : I recently found a longsword in a custom- made module, and one of the blade´s characteristics is called "Holy Avenger". What does that mean ?
One other thing : how can I recharge items ?
Thanks for the help,
Nagroth

Recharge Items?
I dont' think there is a way, but try selling it to a merchant and buying it back (if you can afford it), this might .... just might .... reset the charges - but actually I doubt it.
As for the "holy avenger" I would guess it is some custom mod. specific ability, and nothing "generic" from NwN. So can't help you there.

Insert signature here.
The Holy Avenger modifier adds 1d6 divine damage vs Evil. It is an excellent modifier for paladins because this is a sure-fire way to test if a creature is hankering for a little Smite Evil action.
There isn't a Holy Avenger in the game, although for fun I created a remake of Carsomyr from back in the BGII days (Had to trim a few things here and there to cut its level below 20).

cool.. which means I can add in the Dispel on hit modifier. Too bad I don't have a greatsword-wielding paladin (My pally/rogue(3) is longsword/shield)
I just create a ton of stuff (Like I did as close a reconstruction of Wulfgar's Aegis Fang, minus the 'dwarven thrower' aspect, but can't make the dang thing a 2 hander) and stick it on a merchant in a poorly hand-built mod so that I can just load in a character and buy the items. I typically tend to custom-create gear for my characters since the in-game selections are rather limited in scope. I just try to keep the item level low because a lot of multiplayer hosts want to avoid 'cheater sticks' in their games and enforce item level restrictions.

Ah, that sucks to hear that there's no "true" Holy Avenger in NWN or it's mods. By true, I mean the origninal 2nd edition whoop-ass Holy Avenger. 50% MR, and all that stuff. The original Holy Avenger

Actually there is. You can add the Holy Avenger attribute to a weapon. However you will not see what it does but only in the hands of a paladin it will work.
Here are the stats from NWN toolset:
Holy Avenger: Only a paladin can use a weapon with this property.
Bonuses:
+3 to hit (to a max of +5)
+1d6 damage (same damage type as the weapon) vs Evil
+16 SR
25% Chance of Dispel Magic on hit

Well, that's decent. It's about 1/2 strength, maybe a little better. I guess I just miss that ultimate weapon from the old days.

Actually, to follow up, there IS a Holy Avenger in SoU in the intermission act. You have to fight a series of undead monks for it in the oasis segment. I won't give away too much, but its there
This Holy Avenger mod was a +5 weapon in the hands of a paladin. I did not notice any dispel on hit or spell resistance, but it did have the divine vs evil damage.
This Holy Avenger was Paladin Only, Cast Lesser Dispel 1x day, and a passive Light effect.
