BG1 conversion mod

Post by Ron_Lugge »

Is there some kind of mod that will let me play BG1 storyline / areas, only with the SoA / ToB engine? I have a rather annoying problem with the BG1 engine (it doesn't run right; I'm still trying to fix random crashes, erreroneous displays, etc etc - I don't think it likes my Geforce 4) and I've never actually been able to finish BG1 (When I played it, before SoA came out, my computer would crash and have to be reformated on a regular basis due to a virus)

I've never heard of the mod. Would be nice if it were around, though. That's the problem with mods: once the creator loses interest, all too often they vanish from the Web.

Info on the "BG Trilogy" is over at TeamBG. Good luck with the long DL and installation.

Meanwhile, there is a quiet project going on to repurpose Weimer's still-beta IWG2 "WeiMorph" converter to do a BG1->BG2 port. Stay tuned.

Now theres something I'd like.

Run through BG1, TOTSC, BG2, TOB, and all with one program :D (A program which tends to have better graphics / controls, though I haven't finished it yet)

BG Trilogy promises to let you play through the "entire game" in one engine. The WeiMorph-based project is just focusing on transporting BG1, not linking it through to BG2/TOB.

I believe BG Trilogy also includes Ascension and some other changes as non-optional extras.
