I think I am stuck.

Post by Marquis »

I have had Planescape Torment for some time now. The game continually clicked off on me on my previous computer however. Now, with my newer computer, it is working... thus I am playing it. I have done fine so far. I believe I need help now though. I am trying to prove Ravel is that one girl's mother. I know to do this I have to prove to that other girl's fiance that she is having an affair, and I know that to do this I have to get a letter from the printer guy in the lower ward. My problem is this... I try to go to the printer and his shop is locked. I might have offended him or something much earlier in the game.... too much earlier for a previous save to be of much use. I remember he made me vanish and appear outside his shop a few times and now his shop is locked. I have tried the knock spell, I have tried bashing, I have tried lockpicking. Nothing works and the only way to continue the main quest is to get inside that print shop. If anyone has any ideas or hints, it would be very much appreciated. :D

1. If your game is patched (or if you have the 2CD version) you will find another love letter in Yves' room. The patch can only do this if you install it before having first entered the Brothel.

2. If your game is not patched you still have another option;
"go anger Montague.

When you talk to him, you'll get the chance to challenge him. The conversation will end and Montague will turn hostile and try to attack you. Probably best that you don't kill him -- the Harmonium hate it when you get the carpet all bloody. Just leave and go back to Juliet. You'll be able to tell her that Monty will no longer speak with you, and the quest will end."

Alright. I'll try those things. I have the four CD version and I downloaded the patch, though I don't quite remember when. I think it was before the brothel. I'm not sure. I don't think I was able to get Montague so angry as to start a fight with me before, he just kind of shrugs me off as being crazy and whatnot, but I'll try it.

You can always just attack Montague to make him hostile (you don't have to kill him though). Juliette will speak to you if you do that.

I got locked out of the print shop as well. The option I went with was to challenge Montegue, but when I did, he said that it was obvious that I loved Juliet and he would not stand in our way. Besides, he told me, it was obvious that he was no match for me. That is when I had to do some back peddling and explain that it was just a rouse to make him jealous. Juliet wanted a bit of 'spice'. He asked my advice at this point, so I told him to pretend he did not care, and was 'bored' with her any way. I took this back to Juliet, who went all aflutter, and rushed off to prove to Monty that she was still interesting :p

I think there may be some other options as well :)
