I finished the BMC mines quest for Gilbert, and he offered to let Chukka join me. Since I recently became an expert in persuation I have two free slots. However when I talked to chukka he said he hated me and didn't want to join me . I'm of good allignment, and havn't insulted Bates or anything. I have no idea why the half-ogre hates me. Maybe he's got something against technologist dwarfs?
Now I know that every character can begin to like me if I give them the right thing (e.g. dwarven snuff for Magnus, wine for Sogg, tea for Gar) but what can make Chukka happy?

You'll find that Beauty can have quite an impact throughout the game. In fact, the balance between the various stats is one of Arcanum's better points.

Try and buy a Smoking Jacket from the tailors. It gives +20 to any reaction....I find sewer rats that are "courteous" to me (reaction of 70), and yet they want to kill me.
