Open myself up to get flamed question

Post by Forrest Gump »

Noobie here with a couple of questions:

1. Why won't my character fire her bow or swing her sword everytime I want her to? She does fire/swing, however it is very slow process in between each action.

2. I have tried to enable "rapid fire" but I see no difference in speed. What am I doing wrong?

3. The spider in the Crypt keeps kicking my butt. (This is very disappointing to have an enemy such as this kick my arse with repeated ease so early in the game.)

Someone help me, I'm trying to kick my Diablo 2 addiction.

Your Diablo addiction might be the cause of this. ;)

1. The reason for the slow time inbetween arrows firing or sword swings is whats called "Attacks per round". In each round, your character gets a certain amount of attacks, depending on class and possibly race (I can't remember) so, for instance, a fighter can attack more often than a wizard, because they are trained to do so.

2. This, I'm not too sure on, do you get a special targetting cursor up when you click on it? Maybe you have to select who you want to fire at.

3. If you have any potions or scrolls that might help, use them. Otherwise, check out the walkthrough section of Gamebanshee.

Any help? :)

The amount of attakcs you get are not distibuted the same way at all in NWN as in D2. In D2 the chjar swings his sword as fast as he has finished one swing and to swing the sword faster you the animation is only sped up. In NWN the character has to wait for a moment, think of it as recovery time or some such, and then after he has recovered and found an opportunity to attack he will again swing his sword. This leads to the char actually standing still and staring a while inbetween swings and this is especially visible with a bow as the attack animation is really short. It is also part of the 3E D&D rule set.....
