Final Battle Woes (spoilers ahead)
Let me just say: The inability to rest in the Source Stone Sanctum puts spell-casters at a severe disadvantage.
If I were a fighter, I could just sip a heal potion, and then I would be good to go. As a Wizard, there's nothing I can do to get any more spells.
This makes it nearly an impossible battle! (Especially since I failed to take a henchperson with me into Chapter 4, thinking I would just pick one up there!) Woe is me! Furthermore, recent patches have lowered the experience you get through the game, so you are usually only around level 17 at the end. This means that the nifty amulet that provides protection from lizard-folk that the Aribeth lool-alike gives you is completely useless, since it has a level 18 restriction!
Okay, I'm done ranting.

That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.
Games such as these usually puts spellcasters at disadvantages - for the very reason you mention. They rely heavy on being able to get some rest.
I've not personally tried talking a spellslinger far in the game, because after the first run and a half, I grew tired of the single player module
.
But lukily in this game, they have moved so far from the "true" ruleset, so spells like summon monster is usefull as a tank. My advice would be to stock up on these, and try to stay out of the frey.
I can't fully remember the lay out of the last map anymore, but otherwise - maybe some invisibility poitions/spells so you can try to sneak past some fights.

Thanks. That's exactly what I did. Part of my problem was that I was not a pure wizard - I had taken 3 levels of rogue and was only at level 14 wiz. Well, I came to treat the fight like a rogue, first casting horrid wilting (from a scroll) into the preists to lower Morag's resistances. When the Hands started chasing me, I lured them back down a corrider of traps. Eventually, they lost me around a bend, I drank an invisibility potion, then went back to Morag, closing the doors behind me. Facing Morag, with all possible protections activated, I did a Tensor's Transformation and wailed on her (her sword protection had died). Her minions couldn't hurt me as Tensor, and she went down quickly.
It was fun coming up with the strategy, which is the whole point to role-playing games as opposed to hack-and-slash.
Now to wait for Shadows of Undrentide.
I suppose I'll play with the toolset some more.
