charm, what is it good for?

well do you have a good use for it. i do not have time to check this as i have to go in a sec so could you tell me a good use for it?

Well, at early levels it's a great spell. You can bring powerful enemies to your side for the duration of the spell if they miss their save. But at later levels it's totally useless, as anything worth charming will almost always make their save or magic resistance.

you're right, but there are higher level spells similier to "charm" that are more powerful and have a higher DC... (sorcerers and bards- beware... think twice before choosing this spell...

)

what spells. my sorcerer have chosen charm but when a prisoner makes his save 9 out of 10 times you realise how bad it is. going to change this next time i level up. what charm spells have higer DC? Mass charm maybe?

I don't know there name, but I'm sure that there are spells that are similier to "charm". look at the discription of the spells when you're leveling up. if there isn't such spell at your'e next level, be pathient and wait for the nesxt LVL...

Dominate Monster - level 9
Mass Charm - level 8
Control Undead - level 7
Planar Binding - level 6
Dominate Person - level 5
Charm Monster - level 4
Charm Person - level 1

Also there is a spell at level 5 - Mind Blank - that can hurt will-save throws. (will being the save throw towards mind spells)

and mind fog to reduce will. but they have to save to will before getting hit so its not very good

gonna wait to level something (cant remember) before getting a good charm spell. oh and xandax forgot greater planar binding. what would be the best spell for a sorcerer to take. i prefer to have 1 charm just in case.
