I still thgink they might be quite fun but do you think they will be able to compete with the average 40th level character?

Triple class - is it worth it?
I was just about to start a new game with a solo gnome F/M/T but got to thinking - is it worth it what with TOB coming out (i am keeping all my recent chars to bring into TOB) already at the end of BG2 triple class chars are feeling the pinch of the linear exp curve at high levels being seroiusly behind single and dual-multi class chars. whith TOB this is even going to get worse. (8 million divided by three is about 2.67 million which is not enough to even get to level 20 ) as i am assuming that you only get high level abilities as you reach and pass the level max from BG2, this will mean no high level abilities for triple class characters. so are they going to be worth it .

They say to truly understand reality one must learn to think in Seven Dimensions
Understand there is no chaos - Only a pattern to large for your mind to grasp

Cartoon Law III
Any body passing through solid matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.

I can't see it, personally. With the cap so high for ToB, and all the new spells and skills, you're going to miss a lot--but each to their own.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
just because you are not getting these powerful high level habilities do not mean your character will be weak, with F/T/M
your level will be around 18/21/17
this is far to be weak , just having level 8 spells, 100% in all habilites of thieves and the thac0 of a level 18 fighter will be great! thats the advantage of multiclasses you will have many habilities but do not expect a F/T/M with 8000000 xp be a better fighter than a PURE FIGHTER with the same amount of xp, if it was not in that way no one would be pure classes
