Stuck, please help

Please help I am stuck in the ritual chamber. A battle occurred and someone escaped through a portal. I am told I need to go through the portal and follow him. Nothing happens when I step in and/or around the portal. I cannot go any where. What am I missing????

Do you mean that you cannot go into the portal or that once you step into the portal you don't know what to do?

If it's the former, then I recommend you to update to the latest patch released by Bioware. It's probably some scripting problem.

I can step into the portal, but it does not do anything. I tried several times to download the update. I get an error message "failed to uncompress file:temp\nwupdate.ne_ The patch has been aborted."
i hope I am not stuck to just doing the first chapter.

You can also try to manualy download the patch (if you didn't try already). Click here to get from the Bio website.

Thanks for your help. I manually downloaded the fix and now everything seems to be working. I knew someone from this board could help.
