Where to put my thief skills ?

Post by De_Priester »

I want to create a new thief but to be honest I have never created one before :P

Where should I put my thieving skills in ? I want to be backstabbing and pickpocketting most of all. I have learned that there aren't sufficient locks in the game to pump the skill and I'll be using a party so knock to open right ?

More precise how many points in hide in shadows, move silently etc to be succesfull ?

And how much in pickpocket and set snares ?

Little indication would rawk.

Thanks people !

You don't need to specialize in any skill, just as many points as possible.
a lockpick of 80 should be enough to open all locks in the game, same for detect traps.

As for hide, and move silently, as high as possible, but around 100 you can hide 95% of the times without problems.

As for pickpocket, I always reload when I fail so with 90 you're allright. But there are so many points to distribute that all skills should be high at 1/2 of the game.
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Did you place this in the ToB folder because you're creating a thief starting in ToB? If not, I'll move it back to SoA. You'll probably get more responses, there. :)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Note on pickpocketing: You'll have to use potions to boost this skill, unless you have it set very high (150 or greater) - since this one tends to fail a lot. (Do not set over 255 - otherwise it will roll over to low numbers.)
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

I used items for every skill.
Since they can't be worn at the same time I switched them when I needed a skill.
Guinness is good for you.
Gives you strength.
