I received a Gator popup when I logged on earlier as well....
If it happens again I'll take a screen shot :)

I close the popups before they pop....

I have yet to see a popup for Gator, but attached is a shot of InterCort Systems, Inc. wanting to install something on my machine.

It seems that the popups are on some sort of random rotation because I seem to be getting about half a dozen or so different ads and they don't always come up in the same order. I have two computers at home and on one I have yet to receive this particular ad.

I have been hit by that one as well....
Given my present paranoia about viruses and other such bodies invading my computer I have installed both Popup Cop and Mailwasher. I fully understand Buck's wanting to raise revenue, and when he has fine-tuned the new system I will likely subscribe to Game Banshee, but in the meanwhile.....

I can only point up to my "multi-colored" post earlier on this page, quoting a variety of sources about Gator. I would suggest avoiding that company and its products. It has been likened to a virus, in that it's damn near impossible to successfully remove, controls a variety of processes on your computer independently of your instructions, and overwrites material on your screen.

The only catch is that if you have kazaa or any program like that which has an integratd spyware it will destroy it. Kazaa wont work if you delete its spyware component.

Adware doesn't automatically delete anything it finds. It notifies you of what it discovers, and then offers to delete, if you wish. It can also backup your current configuration of files, delete several, then rollback to a previous state if something doesn't work.

I have removed one of the popup companies that I think may have been displaying the Gator ads, and have replaced it with a different popup on a 24-hour interval.

Just out of curiosity, how is GameBanshee paid for the pop-ups?

Do we just have to see the ad for you to get paid, do we have to click on them or do we actually have to buy something from the site placing the ad? Or is it a combination of all three?

Like other posters here I don't really mind the popups.

I actually find one particular popups irony funny, that of a popup for a popup eliminator. :)
"In Germany, they first came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the homosexuals and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a homosexual. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a protestant. Then they came for me--but by that time there was no one left to speak up."
