Nope! The reason is more sinister than that!
Gay birds were persecuted by human conservatives during the Middle Ages; these birds died out a long tome ago.... :(

Until now that is!!! Jippie!!! Gay birds are back again!

Then having a bird avatar is perhaps not the best idea...I think the effects of that would scare you even more!

"We bring you now to a house...well as close as the police will allow us to the remains of this house...to bring you this exclusive report. Last night, the children were waiting for Santa, however they got far more than they expected when the payload delivered was anything but presents. The orphans had approximately 5 seconds to relish the tiny sparks of joy that came from hearing something come down the chimney before the foster home was blown to smithereens by, forensic experts say, about 500 army-issue grenades. Police say that the killer is extremely psychologically unstable, and probably is so deluded that he thinks of himself as Father Christmas. Also, it is quite clear that he has a great deal of military training. This man should be considered as armed and very dangerous. Do not approach under any circumstances, much less sit on his lap and wait for your "surprise". The following picture has been released:"

Of course birds, like other non-human species, can be gay! Apart from the specimen we have here at SYM ;) , there are several well-documented cases of homosexuality in the animal kingdom - that is one of many reasons why it is unlikely that homosexuality is something humans choose or can be "cured" from. On the contrary, it seems to be a naturally occuring variation in sexual orientation.

Talking birds, I have personally met a lesbian royal albatross couple

Ive never heard of or seen or read about a homosexual bird. I bet that albatross you saw was merely a daughter of the mother. So lets escalate the disturbance of the thread by saying: Many species do do strange things with their offspring. :D

But via my experience and readings, homosexuality doesnt exist in a birds life. Ive seen male birds want to beat the crap out of other male birds. But never homosexuality. Certainly it exists in other forms of animals, I think, like rodents and such. I mean I look outside and see squirrels, and they just dont care, aslong as they get some.

I mean he should know.

[edited a second time because Kam quoted me before I edited the phrase out]

You know, when I was referring to the squirrels getting some, I was referring to the fact they dont care whether its with a male or a female, you know. :p
