Rate Arcanum for me
Rate Arcanum for me
Is Arcanum a game worthwhile to play? I bought it back when my computer did not meet the requirements to play it
and I recently found it again. I have played it for short while at times and it does not really seem a good use of my time. Well the first part at least, does not seem very great. Does it pick up later on? If anyone could write me a short review I'd be much obliged.

It's a good game, compromised by a lack of faces (giving it an impersonal feeling) on the main screen, and an involuted interface. Some people also claim that the magic side is overpowered, at least in the early stages. But I have to say it was pretty enjoyable.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Hi Gforce,
The game is like Baldur Gate in the industrial revolution, with technology coming in to change the way people see things, you can choose to be a magician, technicial and about 20 other things you can be. There are no set class with leveling much like Diablo II where you get character points when you level up. There are so many places to go people to see and definitely too many items to pick up. The storyline is cool and this game can either be real time or turn based so you can do other stuff while you fight. Mind you, I haven't play many computer games for a while, so who knows what they have invented since April!
It is a subjective thing, to like or not to like this game. Anyway, there are many ways to play this game and there are a lot of added modules that you can download from the net if you got bored of the game. So give it a try because you already paid for the game. If you like it, it will be a bonus. Good luck.

Sorcery and Shadow together as one, the arcane and the dark united. Through our knowledge and skill none can stand against us. We are as one, infallible and invincible. The Shadow Mages.

It's a pretty good game. Excellent dialogue and story but with a horrible, horrible combat system.
