Where can I find information about my harddrive, such as rpm?
I have just bought new 60GB drive to replace my very old 6GB. If the new one is the same speed as my primary drive (20GB), I just use this new one as the secondary; while if it's faster, though, I need to do a major operation. To make matters worse, I am dual booting Win98 SE and XP (Japanese).
Anyway, to begin with, I want to know the speed of the 20GB primary drive. I use Windows 98 SE as main OS.
Thanks in advance.

@KidD01: That's exactly what I want to know. I can tell you of the new one (it's on my desk
), but I want to know that without opening the case. Is there anyway other than opening the case to know about my drive?

You can try using Norton utilities - System Information if you have Norton Utility installed or Sysoft Sandra. Either both prog can detect and give detail info on the HDD specs
BTW the Windows System Info are useless
<EDIT> Sorry for the lame reply *bangs his head on keyboard* I'm cleaning Spam ut of my Yahoo mail while replying that

I'm not dead yet
Never mind
Well, while I agree with you on Windows System info, I could only find nothing better in Norton Utilities. Oh, well, I will open the case, then...
Actually, I am leaning towards just replacing the second drive regardless. Plain and simple...
NOT!
I don't want to re-install the XP, because of the damn registration. It's silly to let me phone up to MS office in Tokyo from here.

If you want to know just about anything about your computer, go to http://www.sisoftware.co.uk/ and download Sandra. It's a great little utility.
