Key for VanGoethes room (spoiler)

How can i open the locked door at the top of the ladder? I've killed vangoethe. Marlowe lived and i gave him his daughters 'soul' back. I've 'used' the four tables and killed the elemental baddies that appear... but still no key?

Any ideas?

You ahve to go and kill sendai and Abazigal. Then talk to seamon and ask for another way in. He will tell u where to get the key (can't remamber where) and you get it and voila ur inside

You don't need the key, just go back to the smuggler cave and talk to Saemon.
