Chunked Replacements

Post by JSPCHIEF »

After Beating Bohdi in ch6 I stand with three of my NPCs chunked. I still have Korgan and Edwin. I lost Keldorn (who I picked up as a replacement for Vamp Sola), Anomen, and Valygar. I'm considering not trying again and just replacing those chars with others. My char is a Swashbuckler so I have the thief (he's also a bit of a tank), but is Jahiera a good enough Healer to replace Anomen? Also, who replaces Valygar as my archer? And is it worth it to revive Sola? (I'm assuming you can because of the body , books, etc.). Minsc could be a good replacement despite the fact that I hate him, my biggest concern would have to be cleric. I've never played Jan, and I've got Mazzy waiting in the dungeon I found her in, but I Always felt she was underpowered. I will be going on to TOB so I will need a well rounded party. I will also probably SK whoever I pick up to make them a comparable lvl to me. (I'd like to think thesee people are out honing their skills instead of standing around at the local tavern getting drunk and waiting for me).

As you already have an evil party, the cleric replacement should be Viconia. She is the best way to round out an evil party. Personally I would just get the various regenerating rings and not bother with a healer.

When it comes to your Archer, I always use Minsc, and SK him into an Elven Archer with 5* in long-bow and a 19 Dex. Minsc is an alright archer with the LB even as he is, I just love the Archer class. If you would prefer a short bow, I would recommend Mazzy. Your swashbuckler PC can also be pretty good with a short-bow, and then you wouldn't have to bother with any of those goody goody's.

Hope this helps.

It is not really my intention to have an evil party...the evil guys just happen to be the ones who survived (hmmm?). My Char is neutral so he tends to take whomever is best suited for the task at hand. I don't really want to SK anyone into someone they are not...I just want them to be around the same XP lvl as me so they are an asset rather than a liability.

Jaheria is a good addition to your party, healing and fighting. Mazzy is undoubtably the best non-cheated archer in the game, with 5 slots in short bow. Valygar really isnt well suited to be an archer, and you'll see a great imp with mazzy. Or, give anomen the sling of seeking (adds str bonus to dmg) and he can put some serious hurt on. Or, give Vic a girdle of str and the Sling of seeking, bracers of archery also help. Lots of options, pick what you like best.

I don't really have anything to add to what Obsidian says, except to agree wholeheartedly with his assessment of Mazzy. Give her the Gesen, Tansheron or Tuigan bow. If you also give her one of the strength modifying belts or gloves, she can make a passable back-up tank as well.

@Obs: Anomen is not an option since he was one of the chunked characters.

Uhm. Are you sure they cannot be resurrected?
Maybe lowering the difficulty level?
(I'm not sure.... just guessing).
The game says that at level "normal" there are no permanent deaths...
Where we came from, we don't know
Where we're going.... (even worse)
And about who we could be, we actually have trouble in clearly defining the term "to be" in the first place...

ressurection

I'm pretty sure that when they get "chunked", you cannot ressurect them. There is no picture left on the right sidebar, so I don't know how I would select them for ressurection. I could probably just keep trying the battle until I get it done without "chunked" npcs, but I've only succeded once in about 25 attempts, so I don't know if it will ever happen. I also was going to use it as an excuse to play other npcs and wanted some opinions on the others out there.

What about mods? Is Kelsey any good? What class? Any others?

Take Haer ''Dhalis...........hes good :) ............or Tashia (also a MoD)

Just some suggestions :)
"Sometimes Dreams are wiser than waking"

"One day I will leave this world and Dream myself to Reality"

"Dream your life, live that Dream"

"I have a Dream"........Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.
