Mage Items

Post by garazdawi »

I've been thinking a bit (it was a very weird feeling) and I found that there are no "good"mage items in TOB.

The best items you can have are IMO

Armour: Robe of Vecna (SOA)
Helmet: An ion stone (ok this is TOB)
Necklace: Amulet of Power (SOA)
Weapon1: Staff of magi (SOA)
Weapon2: sling of Evarard (SOA)
cloak: Clock of mirroring (SOA)
Ring1: gaxx (SOA)
Ring2: wizardry (SOA)
belt: the one with the most + to str (TOB i think)
boots: speed (SOA)

there are only a few items in there that are from TOB and those items are barely worth mentioning becasuse they are worthless IMHO. If you dissagree with me plz say so or if you have a better mage than my list plz post his/hers equipment.

Anyway why do you think this happened? ws it because of the power already in the stuff in SOA or...

I think because by the time you get a mage to TOB they're already powerful enough to take out most opponents without any equipment. For a 20th level mage, Firkraag is a breeze.
There are 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who don't.
I think I think, therefore I might be.

@Fibble True but so is it for a 20 level paladin and they get coromosyr+6 in TOB. How unfair is that?!?!?

Icewind Gate II Improved engine, third edition rules and the full BG2 storyline.

If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.

Fable's homepage

Now I hope I'm not doing something wrong by telling everyone...
Where we came from, we don't know
Where we're going.... (even worse)
And about who we could be, we actually have trouble in clearly defining the term "to be" in the first place...

I never even Knew fable had a site..

Anyways, mages have what, 250 some spells at their disposal, and in ToB they get a bunch of insane lvl 10 spells.
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

Close but no banana Serje. That link is to Sabre's homepage, not Fables. But it's a darn good BG resource site nonetheless.

Oh my
The blade's renowned almighty memory strikes again.
Apologies @Sabre and @Fable too...

Time to go to my AI and add some smarter script on the fast-string-comparison function now... :o
