Law & Order!!! Nothing But Law And Order!!!

Post by Kayless »

IN THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM THE PEOPLE ARE REPRESENTED BY TWO SEPERATE YET EQUALLY IMPORTANT GROUPS: THE POLICE WHO INVESTIGATE THE CRIME AND THE DISTRICT ATTORNEYS WHO PROSECUTE THE OFFENDERS. THESE ARE THEIR STORIES.

ARGH! I'm going mad! As some of you know, I recently lost my much loved cartoon channel. Without it I've been forced to turn to other programs. And what else is on cable t.v. you ask? LAW & ORDER!!! NOTHING BUT LAW AND ORDER!!! It's running on at least one channel every minute of every day! That's all I ever watch now! It's like some deranged addiction for me and the t.v. is a most obliging dealer. It's always on!!! Image Why?! Why do they torment me?! Why did they get rid of Chris Noth?! Why does the Assistant District Attorney keep changing?! Why are the ADA's always hot women?! Why does Jack McCoy always sleep with them?! (okay, I know the answer to that) WHY!?!

Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Know how you feel....

We currently get 3 different L & A shows - Law and Order SVU, Law and Order Criminal Intent, and Law and Order (according to rumour, soon to be renamed "Law and Order Classic").

Some of these are shown more than once a week, and I suspect that unless controlled, the aim of the producers is to have a dozen or more different shows completely occupying all channels 24/7.

Wasn't there a fourth Law & Order spin off with real life cases? Image This is getting out of hand. You're right, it's got to be some sort of conspiracy to control the world by saturating the market with Police Procedural/Courtroom Drama shows. Image

Take my word for it Law and Order is a great deal better than Kilroy or Richard and Judy ;)

Auugghhh!!!! They're trying to turn us into lawyers!!! :p :D
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

I wonder sometimes if it isn't a conspiracy to keep us all from calling in sick, I mean who wants a day off work (school or whatever) when you have to sit through such mind numbing twaddle.

Whenever I see my wife in front of the television (which, in her favor, isn't often), I ask whether she's watching a show about cops and lawyers, cops and firemen, firemen, lawyers and doctors, or doctors, lawyers, cops, and firemen. It's usually some combination of the above. :)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I watch Law & Order, but not any of the spin offs. IMO, most of them are quite good. Except for this season's premier....it had wayyyyyyy too many holes and inconsistancies.
If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.
