Modron Maze Crash...

The game crashes everytime I try to reset the Modron Maze. Now I'm stuck there. Suggestions?

scratch that, I think I can get out if i take out the room of modrons, but if anyone's got a better idea, that'd be great. I read in a walkthrough I'm supposed to find a portal gem -without- killing the modrons, but I've yet to see it and I've explored every room.

The portal gem gets dropped as random loot, most often when the maze is set to hard difficulty. I usually find at least one, but more often find two or more.

yep, but there's the problem, the game crashes every time i reset the maze, so i can't just redo the maze. I'd autoload to the beginning of the maze but being the idjit that i am i went and left the room with all the modrons and it overwrited (overwrote?).

You can ask them to teleport you out of there.

Have you considered saving, moving your saved games, uninstalling the game and reinstalling it? A lot of effort, I know, but it may just work.

This will work as long as you are project director;

Talk to the engineer.
Say "What exactly is Rubikon capable of?" and then say "What alternate capabilities?"
Then you will be able to say to him (back in the main dialog tree) "I want to use the portal lens to travel somewhere."

thanks for the replies everyone.

I probably should have mentioned it earlier, but I've already tried reinstalling the game. All I managed to do was deleted all my preferences so I had to changed all my settings back from default (gameplay, volume, hotkeys, etc.). Only after this do I realize that I have to quit the game for it to save my settings, so when I tried to get through the crash again I had to redo the whole process (argh!).

I am also pretty sure I have the latest patch.

I don't think I can get as far as becoming the director. What happens is I get a dialogue that let me choose to be the director, which is immediately followed by a single dialogue option (no choice) to reset the dungeon. As soon I select this one, the game crashes.

Thanks again for all the help but I don't think I will go back even if i find a way as I am too far through the game. It's really not a big deal anyways and I managed to make a few bucks off the figurine and portal gem.
