Morte's back, but...

Post by Thanatos »

I just got Morte back, but after a while I noticed that his inventory is gone. I checked the place where I first entered the Lower Ward and found some stuff on the ground that might have been his but there were only a few items (do items on the ground deteriorate?) and I'm not sure it came from him. I figured maybe Morte died somewhere, but I don't recall when or where. Seeing as how Morte doesn't have much gear I really wouldn't care but I lost Ingress' magical teeth and I think I might have had some quest items on Morte. Any ideas?

Morte drops his inventory when he's kidnapped.
He drops it at these coordinates:
X=741 Y=2114 (you can see the current coordinates of the cursor by pressing the "L" key on your keyboard)
If the stuff that he had when he was kidnapped is not there, that means it's gone for good.

It's as I figured, the pile I found was at the coordinates you gave. Guess the game slowly removes objects left on the ground bit by bit. How this is supposed to happen is beyond me. I just hope the game doesn't delete objects necessary to finish the game. Serves me right for not saving on different files I guess (Quicksave is evil!)

I find it odd that they never considered the possibility that the player would miss the items being dropped. When I got to that area, it was pitch black, and as I recall there were no message or any indication of items being dropped. Next thing I know two wererats run off with Morte: what was i supposed to do, stand around and check for piles of stuff on the ground??

Thanks for the help though.

Most quest related items do not disappear. I don't think any of the ones needed to complete the game disappear.
When I first had Morte kidnapped I noticed his stuff drop. The screen is right on him when it happens. But it was during the day for me.
What happened to you happens to a lot of people and I could never figure out why. Maybe it's because they got to the Lower Ward at night, like you.
