Here's a pic from 1998 of my pet ferret and Beaglador (Beagle/Labrador Retriever mutt). Sadly both have since pasted on, but pics like this one remind me of all the happy days we spent together. *Sniffle* I’m going to leave before I start tearing up.

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

**Hugs @ Kayless** Is OK, buddy. But, ehem,...Why is Weasel hitching a ride on your pet's back?

@Kayless Yeah I know how you feel. I think my pet c0ckatiel was my best friend for a while. He passed away in his sleep in February, and I miss him so ..... Well I dont want to spam up the topic but I just want to say that I find the ferret family is a very cool family in nature, but Im unsure of how they can be as pets. Ive handled ferrets before and they seem active. Was it easy or difficult to care for a ferret?
BTW-I will probably post a picture sometime of my c0ckatiel, I dont have any readily available on the computer today. Maybe tomorrow Ill scan a picture.
“Caw, Caw!” The call of the wild calls you. Are you listening? Do you dare challenge their power? Do you dare invade? Nature will always triumph in the end.

Thanks. Zach (my ferret) was always doing or getting into things he shouldn't, and would frequently try to hitch a ride on Keri's (my Beaglador) back. Luckily she was pretty mellow and put up with his shenanigans with good-natured pluck.

I'm sorry about your c0ckatiel Tybaltus. My sister has one she's owned for well over a decade, and I can't imagine how hard it will be on her when he passes away. I'm always floored when a pet dies. Some of my friends think it's foolish to get too emotionally tied up in an animal, but I guess I'm one who loves not wisely, but too well.

Word to the wise, never get a ferret unless you are prepared to have him get into or knock over anything and everything in your house. Zach (my ferret) would figure out how to open doors and cabinets, could fit under the smallest gaps (allowing him to slip under the couch or stove), and would often steal things that took his fancy and stash them away in one his hiding spots (generally keys, and other things you don't want lost). In short, ferrets are a menace. But if you can tolerate thier antics they're fun as hell. They do the zaniest crap and are absolutely fearless (and very cute). Ah, the good old days...

Not sure if I should consider these thigns pets, but I do seem to share my home with a few of them. I caught this bugger scuttling across the living room floor.
And for NZ this guy is quite big.

There are 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who don't. I think I think, therefore I might be.

C0ckatiels live for 10-15 years...mine died at age 10, but we dont know how old he was when we got him. He was fully grown, so he was at least 2.5 years old. He was a friendly sort, always excited when company was in the room and was an attention hog like me.....heh.....he always wanted to be closest to people in the room. I would recommend a c0ckatiel to anyone because he gave me 10 years of love and I would never ever replace it. Get attached to your pets. They get attached to you, show the same affection and make every year of their life as happy as you can make it. Those are just some of my words of wisdom regarding pets 101.
Yeah. Im not ready for ferrets, but I liked them when they were in my teacher's classroom. He had an abundance of pets he kept at school for his nature/science class. Students were always welcome to stop by and give the pets attention when class wasnt in session. But when the ferrets got loose, havok broke out in the classroom sometimes.
