LOL, but how many children's shows could get away with a character that says nothing but "weed" the whole time? :D

@CE The Wonder Years was an 80s (I think) US coming-of-age drama type thing, starring Fred Savage. I don't really remember much about it.

Well, in the best TV thread, Tybaltus just reminded me of a really bad show... Robot Wars - I guess building the robots does take some skill, but the show itself is moronic.

There was a truly horrendous children's series called Diver Dan, back in the 1960s, I think. It was all about a guy dressed up in what looked like a basic diving suit with a helmet, badly superimposed over something like water with a bunch of talking fish puppets, whose strings were very obvious. Each week, Diver Dan would get into danger, usually because Baron Barracuda (with a Dracula-like voice) had done something to him. Other fish would help free him.

It was truly as stupid as it sounds. I've since seen elsewhere that it received some kind of negative award as being among the least imaginative kid's series of all time. I can believe it.

@Georgi Ah. Im heart-broken you say that. Oh well. Again, I am more in favor of the destruction and the robots rather than the set-up of the show and the announcers.

@Tybaltus Even the robots aren't that interesting... from what I've seen, a certain design is obviously the best, and so variations on that one are always the ones that win, it's not really gripping...

' "Weed!" said Weed.' has become a favourite catchphrase of my friends and I... :D

What makes Robot Wars worse is that it's hosted by Craig Charles. Every time I've seen that show I've thought back to Red Dwarf and said to myself "How can one man sink so low from such heights?" :(
It almost makes you weep for humanity.

Any quiz show that plays mind games on contestants. When my wife and I hit the fitness center a few months back I saw something called "The Weakest Link," in which the contestants actually chose to throw out those among themselves who performed the worst. The MC meanwhile put on an ice-persona and asked demeaning questions meant to make the idiots look even poorer. IMO, that stinks: if I want a dose of believing the worst about the human race, I'll go watch some Bush Administration spokesperson.

 :D I know...I mean...I'm no prude...but IMO one's "private life" is exactly that....and in those situations the phrase, "too much information" comes to mind.....

Actually, it really amazes me, the kind of stuff that people are willing to publicly disclose on game shows or talk shows...or for that matter on forums.... but I guess some are less private than others ;)

Well its good for entertainment, the people think. And so they actually go out there are persuade people to talk about such things.

@Jae Survivor got old REAL fast. Days of Our Lives and Big Brother, I have never seen. As far as the sitcoms you mentioned before-yeah. Theyre real bad too. I think theyve been mentioned on the thread somewhere, though. :D
