At this point, though, I don't think I could use an emoticon and be accepted by the people here at SYM. For instance, if someone opened a post by me and saw the biggrin smilie, you'd think that Weasel hacked my account and was posting under my name or that I had clearly gone insane. What if I posted "ROFL"? I'd get PMs from half of you folks saying, "We don't even know who you are anymore."
I think I'll also refrain from using smilies just out of meanness . . .

Actually, there have been rumors to that effect making the rounds of the more influential newspapers for some time. Editorials and letter columns have thrilled with such speculations as Is HighLordDave really a shifty, sharp-toothed mammal with the morals of a lawyer? and HighLordDave, aka Weasel, Caught in Love Triangle with Two Feathered Concubines and a Bottle of Burma Shave.
