pedestal keys - Irenicus's dungeon

Post by free_fall »

There's 6 pedestals and I only have 5 keys - did I miss one somewhere?

Or is this the way it's supposed to be, because IIRC this same situation occurred when I played the game before.

TIA

Yea there are definately 6 keys and IIRC there's one on the escaped clone, so if you skipped that room you'll miss one, there's also one on the Otyugh or whatecer that thing is. Those are the only two I can think of that you could overllook, for the others, just look in each and every searchable item.

Thanks for the help guys.

Skuld> Thanks. It was laying on the floor where I killed the Otyugh thing, don't know how I missed seeing it at the time.

I know... I always had the same problem. I was never able to find the Magic Missil key, and when I was able to find it, I couldn't remember where the Summoning key was. The situation was... Very annoying. :D Maybe I'll get it my next time around... (Which will be my fifth time playing. I should have it down by then... :D )

I always forget one different key every time I play BG2. I usually don't go back to find the missing keys though.

@ Gnomethingy: There is most definately NOT a pedestal key in the doppleganger(Frenedan) room. It would be a little late don't ya think?

-the Otyugh thing
-the room of Jon's with many traps
-a chest in that room with the monster making machines
-the clone

umm....can't think of the other 2 maybe there's two in some rooms I named.

If you mean the wands are "just pathedic one timers" , I'm afraid that's not true. I've been hit several times by the wand of Missils when crossing it and doubling over.

You get a wand every time you unlock a pedestal. The wands are VERY useful at such a low level.

I never used them, bc they are only one timers and they dissapear after only one use.

@Aqua-Chan That's what I mean with pathetic one timers , u can only use them once when you get them by using teh keys, that is IIRC.

If you have ToB installed, then a very useful way of finding things is witht the 'tab' key (being a Diablo veteran helps ^_^) and the keys are not in very difficult places to find, just take your time...

Does anyone else use their potions of haste while completing the 'leg work' for this dungeon?!? (genie to dryads, to genie, finding keys, eliminating Daemon)

You can also walk along the left side... oooo. And you might even get the chance to kill a vampire if you're fast enough.

Well....that is correct, but if you take the wands you want (summoning leaps to mind) and sell it and buy it back, you now have a fully charged wand.

And that is certainly not pathetic......

It is a free world when it comes to those wands (well almost free) -- buy 2 potions of master thievery and use the one found in the Irenicus dungeon. A set of fully charged wands can be yours.

(Sorry Fable, I know you dislike that tactic :) )

Useful? IMO the wands are absolutely crap! The only one I ever used was the wand of cloudkill.
Wand of magic missiles fires ONE :o missile, can´t even kill a goblin!
A MM spell is tons better than most wands in the game!

BTW @kopywrite, is it possible to steal from a storekeeper without him seeing it, he always seems to find out whenever I do...
