Damn. Why must we be put under the impression that we listen and agree with Dubya's dang stupid moves. I hate it when generalizations are off-bounds. And I would hate for the country to be viewed as a believer in all of his moves.

Can't the senators block his proposals? We have that here with the Greens party blocking moves to make inland Australia the worlds dumping ground for nuclear waste

I am speechless. To everything is this thread. Are the goverment distributing hallocinogens to the American people before the elections?

I shouldn't be surprised though regarding the forests, since Bush has previously demonstrated his total lack on knowledge and/or considerations of any environmental issues.

So how many people in the States know of this?

I'd expect some heated debates coming out of this, however it seems that Bush is seemingly unopposed.

There have been protests. But AFAIK, I dont think its been among the top stories, so the media is trying to ignore it, I think. Which gets me angry aswell.

The main reason, Bush can say what he wants, but doing it might prove to be different. Look at the Alaska and see where his idea went.

The goal he has at the moment is to get public support...something that IMHO will be short. Trust is not his ally.

Let me also remind you that Dubbayah, president of the country that pollute our planet the most, chose not to come to the present international World Developmet summit meeting, where environmental and world economy issues are to be discussed.

Sometimes I am so embarrassed because of certain actions that the country that I am a citizen of makes such stupid or bad moves.

*sigh* He wasn't the only one, Australia's Prime Minister John "We won't sign the Kyoto policy until Bush does" Howard also didn't show up. However the whole meeting is an utter disgrace. Apparently the delegates, who have had cases of champagne flown in from France

are to add over 500,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide pollution, the same amount usually generated by half a million Africans in a year.And lastly hundreds of tree's have been cleared since the roads were too small for the motorcades. Not really a nice way to celebrate the tenth anniversay of the Earth summit.

Probably a tad off topic, but that little bit of trivia really annoyed me.

It's a plan. We'll get everyone in SYM to move to a particular city (I'd suggest San Fransisco

) and all vote against Dubyah, then change the city's name to SYM City.
